Cookie policy
What we store in your browser, why, and how to switch it off.
-
Introduction
This cookie policy explains how Dealiomap Ltd (“DealioMap”, “we”, “us”), 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom, uses cookies and similar technologies on dealiomap.com (the “Site”). It should be read together with our privacy policy, which describes how we handle personal data more broadly.
-
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They allow the site to remember your actions and preferences — such as consent choices or display settings — over a period of time, so you do not have to re-enter them on every page. Cookies set by the site you are visiting are called first-party cookies; cookies set by other domains are third-party cookies.
-
What local storage is
Alongside cookies, modern browsers offer “local storage” — a small data store that belongs to the website and stays on your device until deleted. The Site uses local storage for several convenience features, such as remembering your cookie choice and keeping the virtual coin balance in the social games section. Local storage data never leaves your device automatically.
-
Why we use these technologies
We use cookies and local storage for four purposes only: to keep essential site features working, to remember the choices you make, to understand in aggregate how the Site is used so we can improve it, and to keep the Site secure. We do not use cross-site advertising trackers and we do not build advertising profiles of our visitors.
-
Entries we store
The table below lists every first-party entry the Site currently uses:
Name Type Purpose Lifetime dm_cookies Local storage Remembers whether you accepted or rejected cookies Until cleared dm_coins Local storage Stores your virtual coin balance in the social games Until cleared dm_bonus Local storage Records the date of your last claimed daily game bonus Until cleared session security Cookie Basic protection against request forgery on forms Session -
Essential entries
Essential cookies and storage entries are required for the Site to function — they keep forms secure and remember your consent decision so we do not ask you on every page. Because they are strictly necessary, they are set regardless of consent, as permitted by the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR).
-
Functional entries
Functional entries — the game balance and daily bonus marker — exist purely for your convenience. They are created only when you actually open a game on the social games page. If you never play the games, these entries are never created. Clearing them simply resets your coin balance to the starting amount.
-
Analytics
We measure aggregate usage of the Site — page views, popular content and approximate visitor counts — using privacy-respecting measurement that does not identify individual visitors. Analytics data is processed in aggregated, anonymised form and is used solely to decide which travel content to expand and improve.
-
Third-party content
Some pages embed resources from third parties — for example, web fonts served by Google Fonts. When your browser fetches these resources, the third party may receive your IP address and technical request data. We select providers that commit to not using such data for profiling. The Site does not embed social-media tracking pixels.
-
Your consent choices
On your first visit, the cookie banner lets you accept or reject non-essential storage. Your choice is remembered and applied across the Site. You can change your mind at any time by clearing the Site’s data in your browser, after which the banner will appear again on your next visit.
-
Managing cookies in your browser
All major browsers let you view, restrict, block and delete cookies and local storage:
- Chrome — Settings → Privacy and security → Site settings → Cookies and site data;
- Safari — Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data;
- Firefox — Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data;
- Edge — Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Manage and delete cookies.
Blocking all storage may affect convenience features such as the games’ coin balance, but the Site’s core content remains fully readable.
-
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
Because the Site does not perform cross-site tracking, there is nothing for Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signals to switch off — our default behaviour already matches the most private setting these signals request.
-
Children
The functional storage used by the social games is age-gated in the same way as the games themselves: the section is intended only for visitors aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly store data on devices of children.
-
Changes to this policy
If we add, remove or change any cookies or storage entries, we will update the table above and the “Last updated” date. Material changes — such as introducing a new analytics provider — will be announced via the cookie banner, giving you a fresh choice.
