Who we are

This privacy policy describes how Dealiomap Ltd (“DealioMap”, “we”, “us”, “our”), a company registered in England and Wales with its registered office at 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom, processes personal data collected through the website dealiomap.com (the “Site”). Scope of this policy

This policy applies to all personal data collected through the Site, including the newsletter subscription forms, the trip-match quiz, the support chat and the social games section. It does not apply to third-party websites, including partner platforms linked from the Site, which operate under their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review those policies before providing any data to third parties.

Data we collect

We deliberately collect as little personal data as possible. Depending on how you use the Site, we may process:

• Contact data — your email address when you subscribe to the newsletter;
• Communication data — messages you type into the support chat;
• Preference data — answers you select in the trip-match quiz;
• Technical data — IP address, browser type, device type, operating system and screen size;
• Usage data — pages visited, time on page, referral source and interaction events;
• Local storage data — quiz progress, virtual coin balance and cookie consent choices stored in your browser.

How we use your data

We use the collected data to operate and improve the Site. Specifically, we use it to deliver the newsletter you requested, to respond to questions raised in the support chat, to remember your preferences between visits, to measure which content is genuinely useful, to keep the Site secure and to comply with our legal obligations. We never sell personal data and we never use it for automated decision-making with legal effects.

Legal bases for processing

Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), we rely on the following legal bases: your consent (newsletter subscription, non-essential cookies), our legitimate interests (site analytics, security, improving content) and compliance with legal obligations (record-keeping, responding to lawful requests). Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.

Cookies and local storage

The Site uses a small number of cookies and browser local-storage entries. Essential entries remember your cookie choice and keep core features working; functional entries store your quiz answers and virtual coin balance for the social games. Full details, including names and lifetimes, are published in our cookie policy. You can clear all locally stored data at any time through your browser settings.

Sharing your data

We share personal data only with service providers who help us run the Site — hosting providers, email delivery services and analytics processors — under contracts that prohibit them from using the data for their own purposes. We may also disclose data where required by law, court order or a competent authority. If DealioMap is ever involved in a merger or acquisition, data may be transferred as part of that transaction under equivalent protections.

International transfers

Some of our service providers operate outside the United Kingdom. Where personal data is transferred internationally, we ensure an adequate level of protection through UK adequacy regulations, the International Data Transfer Agreement, or standard contractual clauses approved by the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), together with additional safeguards where appropriate.

Data retention

We keep personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described above. Newsletter email addresses are stored until you unsubscribe and for up to 30 days afterwards to process the removal. Support chat messages are retained for up to 12 months for quality purposes. Technical and usage data is retained in aggregated form that no longer identifies you. Local storage data remains on your device until you clear it.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

• access the personal data we hold about you;
• request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data;
• request erasure of your data (“right to be forgotten”);
• restrict or object to processing based on legitimate interests;
• receive your data in a portable, machine-readable format;
• withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent;
• lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).

Security measures

We apply technical and organisational measures appropriate to the risk: encrypted connections (TLS) across the entire Site, access controls and least-privilege principles for our systems, regular software updates and staff confidentiality obligations. No internet transmission is ever completely secure, but we work continuously to protect your data against unauthorised access, alteration or loss.

Children’s privacy

The Site is not directed at children under 18, and the social games section is explicitly restricted to visitors aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us at hello@dealiomap.com and we will delete it promptly.

Newsletter specifics

Our newsletter is sent no more than once per week. Every email contains a one-click unsubscribe link that takes effect immediately. We measure aggregate open and click rates to improve content, but we do not build individual behavioural profiles from this data.

Third-party links and partners

The Site contains links to external websites, including social networks and the partner platforms featured in the social games section. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those websites. The presence of a link does not imply endorsement of a third party’s data handling. Always review the privacy policy of any external service before sharing personal data with it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in law, technology or our practices. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page shows the current version. Material changes will be highlighted on the Site for at least 14 days. Continued use of the Site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
